It's nearly December

I don't know what a description of a blog would be!

I'm wrapping present now in order to get them in the mail. If one doesn't do it early, your gift will arrive on Valentines Day.

Musically, I'm working on a Shakahachi flute and poem piece. Since I wrote one for Northern Plains Indian flute and the Shakahachi fellow freaked, I'm working to get it right. It's very hard to notate the Shakahachi  using Finale. Way too subtle and fast. I was told the piece must be slow...yes to accommodate all the really fast things that happen to a single note!!!

And then there's the organ piece. I rewrote a section because the organ doesn't do arpeggios. Who knew? This was my first organ piece and actually I'm proud of it.

Now I've started a song for the new singers Joan Yakkey in Florence, Italy    has up for becoming her crack team to play in Cathedrals and for Presidents and such. I hav e what I think are the words, but haven't had time to write music. I go in a little while to train an new person in how to be a DJ on WOMR FM in Provincetown, Ma. Yes, I have a radio show called THE LATEST SCORE every Tuesday from 1 to 4pm EST. And so I'm off.

PS: I ought to qualify that - some brilliant guys can do arpeggios on the pedals. What I meant was - I can't. Not these days, anyway!

Hi Canary,
Nice reading your post. Just one thing, though: you say the organ can't do arpeggios. But it CAN and with the right registration they can sound gorgeous. It's no more difficult to play arpeggios on an organ than it is on a piano. Of course, one can't do one on the pedals (unless you happen to be a very agile centipede), but on the manuals, it's fine.
Thought you'd like to know.
Kindest regards,
Thurstan.
