The time before Christmas!!
ALL the presents are off. My kids say the're too old for presents!! And then they relish them. This year they cost more to mail them than it cost for the things inside.
The Northern Plains flute... is a bust. I was so busy copying phrases (licks in jazz talk)I wound up with a bunch of phrases. So was embaressed when the fellow who actually plays that flute turned it down. Gee, maybe I should run all my work past someone before I send it off.
Then I have a small, three movement duo clarinet piece that has been to it's requester for way too long. If THIS music is ok, I'm sure the young woman's teacher won't like it. During the writing of this piece, I kept wanting to curtsy it is so quasi baroque. I've been surprized that this baroque music comes out of me when I was so adamantly anti. I called the suite "The Tea party" and Dancing with my Teddy and Playing Dress up. See, it made me see that imagery. I think the woman likes it, but he can't bring himself to play it. Oh well. I shouldn't have done it.
But the organ piece is on the docket for after Advent. That's sometime after Christmas I think.
And I just found 3 or 4 more 8 bar jazz sections for Ya Gotta Be Kiddin that was JUST inducted in musicaneo. I will wait a few days then delete that one and start over again .
